Why we skate

About 844 million people worldwide lack basic water services. In the Dominican Republic, the burden to collect water tends to fall on the women and children, taking hours out of their day to trek ~3 kilometers to their nearest water source and back. This often prevents them from attending school or pursuing a career.

We skate in solidarity to raise awareness for the water crisis and bring these burdens into perspective.

Every Drop Matters

BLUE Missions empowers the youth to advocate for a world where there is water for all, forever. Through service projects and sustainability education, BLUE connects families in Latin America to clean, fresh water and inspires young people to lead the way to a water-secure future.

- Wash dishes efficiently (Use a basin instead of running water, or run a full dishwasher)
- Take shorter showers (Reducing shower time by just a few minutes saves gallons of water)
- Reduce plastic use (Plastic production requires a lot of water; opt for reusable items)
- Buy sustainable clothing (Fast fashion has a high water footprint. Choose quality over quantity)
- Participate in cleanup efforts (Help maintain clean rivers, lakes, and reservoirs)
- Educate others (Share info on water conservation with friends and family)
